Scarcely 4 months after the six sold-out concerts by Channel Zero, Belgium's metal-pride, the DVD+CD ‘Live At The Ancienne Belgique’ is in stores now.
We were there already at the press screening in Brussels' Kinepolis last week and it should be said: director Hans Pannecoucke has delivered extremely fine work. But then Pannecoucke (you'll never forget the name now) has been working perfecting concert recordings for about 20 years now (from Placebo to Faithless to Clouseau and Natalia).
For those who want to try and find themselves in the crowd: the concert that was filmed in its entirety was the one on Saturday 23 January, the second of the six concerts.
the DVD contains all the audience favourites: from ‘Black Fuel’, ‘Bad To The Bone’, ‘Fool’s Parade’ and also (of course) ‘Suck My Energy’. If you only want to listen: then you can be comforted by the CD included.
As “extras” you can lose yourself in ‘Interview With The Audience' (but then … oops ... no, we're not telling), ‘Backstage With Channel Zero’ and ‘After The Show’.
Do you find your PC, TV or flatscreen at home unworthy? Then you can see Channel Zero ‘Live At The Ancienne Belgique’ on the big screen this week in all branches of Kinepolis in Belgium (more specifically on Wednesday 5 May). If it's anything like the press screening (Beer! Headbanging!) then we can only wholeheartedly recommend you be there.
